Introduction to the CA (General) Test Format

- Structure: 4 papers (2 objective and 2 subjective).

2. Intermediate Level

Who Is Eligible for the CA (General) Training Course? – Full Detail
The CA (General) Training Course is designed for individuals who aspire to become Chartered Accountants. Eligibility varies by entry route:
- Foundation Route: Students who have completed Class 12 from a recognized board are eligible to register for the CA Foundation course, which is the first step toward CA training.
- Direct Entry Route: Graduates/postgraduates in commerce with a minimum of 55% or non-commerce students with 60% can directly enter the Intermediate level, bypassing Foundation.
- International Candidates: Some global qualifications or degrees may be considered equivalent for eligibility by ICAI.
- Other Requirements: Candidates must also complete orientation and IT training before articleship and advance ICITSS before the final exam.
Students After 12th Grade: Those who have completed Class 12 (in any stream) can apply through the Foundation Route. They must register with ICAI and clear the CA Foundation exam to proceed.
Graduates and Postgraduates: Candidates with a degree in commerce (with at least 55%) or non-commerce (with at least 60%) can directly enroll in the Intermediate Course via the Direct Entry Route.
International Students: Eligibility for international candidates is based on equivalence standards set by ICAI for foreign qualifications.
Age and Background: There is no age restriction. Candidates from any academic background (science, arts, commerce) can apply, provided they meet the academic eligibility.
Additional Requirements:
- Completion of Orientation Course and Information Technology Training (ITT) before starting articleship.
